Who we are
Welcome to Dixie's Harvest for Hope! We are a North Carolina-based nonprofit dedicated to turning locally harvested wild game into life-sustaining meals for those in need. Our mission is simple but impactful: to use the resources around us to feed the hungry and bring hope to those facing hardship.
As the owners of Dixie Deer Processing, we saw firsthand how the local harvest could be a lifeline for people in difficult times. Especially in the aftermath of natural disasters, like hurricanes, the need for fresh, nourishing food is vital. With this purpose in mind, we launched Dixie's Harvest for Hope, combining our expertise in deer processing with our commitment to community support.
Through the generous donations of deer, funds, and supplies like freezers, we can process venison and distribute it to families and individuals facing food insecurity. Every donation, whether it’s meat or a monetary contribution, goes directly to ensuring people in our community receive the nourishment they need
How you can help:
-
As a hunter, there are multiple ways you can help! You can donate whole deer, part of a whole deer, or quartered up deer meat. To do this, just bring it to Dixie Deer Processing in Riegelwood, NC and tell them you want to donate it for Harvest for Hope. There is no charge for this, but a monetary donation will never be turned down. This will help cover the cost of labor and supplies.
You can also donate new or gently used chest freezers (to be left in the communities affected by the natural disasters).
You can also donate money to cover the costs of labor, supplies, electricity, transportation, and distribution.
-
Non hunters can help as well! You can donate new or gently used chest freezers.
You can also donate funds to help cover the costs of labor, supplies, electricity, transportation, and distribution.
-
Spread the word! The more people who know about our program, means the more families and individuals we can help in their time of need!
